Between the events of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow became a member of G.U.N., a group Rouge was already part of, but Omega was never stated to be part of G.U.N. Since then, the team co-operated on various missions and became close. In the end, the team teamed up with the two teams and Team Rose in order to defeat Neo Metal Sonic. Eggman (in reality Metal Sonic) as well as Teams Chaotix and Sonic on the way. They went through various locations, encountering a fake Dr.
Rouge stopped the fight and convinced the two to work together with her, forming Team Dark. She released Shadow and accidentally released Omega, which lead to the two fighting. In Sonic Heroes, Rouge was looking for Eggman's treasure but found Shadow in a statis pod.
